Green vs. Sustainable: There is a difference
Many companies are getting on board with Green. They know they have to do something—and employees are eager to get involved. But what to do and how— where to start? Green vs. Sustainable*
Green is detail focused, tactical rather than strategic and focuses primarily on the environment. The goal is to be “less bad”. Green approaches lack a common definition of success.
Sustainable involves taking a whole systems approach. It is strategic and emphasizes “Triple bottom line,” that is, managing for environmental, social and economic benefit. Sustainable approaches are capable of defining and measuring success.
